Hugs+squishy=sparkly things
Title confusing? Well, it's the scientific theory of hugs.
Do you ever have those moments when you get a really quick flash back of something you used to do when you were little, but you can't remember what in the world was going on? I just had about a million of those.
For Christmas, my Grandma gave us some DVD's that she put all of her old home movies onto. My G&G used to live with us and so a lot of the DVD was my family, and then some of it was of my cousins too. Most of what there was, I was around 3 and 4 years old. And I remembered all of it, what happened before the recording, and what happened after. So now I feel like I remember my whole life, even things that didn't really happen (when I was little I thought we had a pet tiger that lived in our basement. I guess I never told my parents about our pet Tiger, because they had no idea we even had one.)
Back to the quick flash backs part of this post.... With all these floods of memories came one that I couldn't figure out, but I remembered it. That probably doesn't make sense... But I remember watching this certain movie where the little girl went through the mirror in her bedroom and went to get something that a witch type lady that was guarding something under a glass cover. It has been driving me crazy for SO long now... and guess what? I just figured it out!!!

I cannot even explain how excited I am that I finally figured this out (thank you google)! I am now watching it on youtube!
So now the question is this. Is this some crazy Canadian child movie, or have any of you Americans seen this? Or remember it?

I said I would post more of these, so here we go.
For one of my photography classes at school, our final project was to do whatever we wanted. The only requirement was that we had to have a goal and accomplish that goal through our photographs. My favorite thing to photography is people and their emotions. It's great and lots of times completely hilarious. I decided that I would do something that I don't usually do and step out of my "people" comfort zone. I chose Temples. I didn't really know what my "goal" would be, so I just said that it was to give a unique/different perspective on a photograph of a temple.
The way it was presented was in a book. It was titled "In the Top of the Mountains..." (from a scripture in the bible found in Isaiah 2:2). Also in the book I gave a description of what Temples were all about (thank you mormon.org - and yes I cited it).
So here is a glimpse of what my book was.

Did you know...
That a lot of the "Moroni's" on the top of Temples are different?!? There are at least 3 different ones! Some Temples have the same one but isn't that kinda weird?

The Lord has commanded His people to build temples. One such command was directed to Solomon, who proceeded to build a house of the Lord and the most sacred structure on earth. Earlier, the Israelite’s tabernacle in the wilderness served as a temple, and there was a temple in the time of Jesus Christ.
When Jesus Christ restored His Church through Joseph Smith, He again directed that temples be built. In the temple, sacred covenants are made and worthy members are endowed with a gift of power and knowledge from on high.
In the more than 100 holy temples worldwide today, members:
- Learn eternal truths.
- Receive sacred ordinances, including those that bind husband and wife together for eternity, as well as join
children and parents ( Malachi 4:5).
- Perform ordinances such as baptism in behalf of those who have died without the opportunity to receive the
gospel, making it possible for those who choose to accept them to return to live one day with Heavenly Father
(1 Peter 4:6 and 1 Corinthians 15:29).
Visitors are welcome to visit the temple grounds at any temple and attend open houses prior to dedication, thereafter only baptized members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are qualified and prepared are allowed to enter a temple after it is dedicated.

Spiderman
This week our family was hit with some unwanted news with Devin. It looks as though he has cancer again. We are all devastated. Devin and his brothers (and his parents) are some of my most cherished people and I love them all dearly. Devin is so lucky to have such great brothers and parents who love him so much. My prayers are with Devin and his family as they move forward with this new trial.

Miss Megan
Meet Megan. I met Megan in a photography class at school last year. She needed a recent picture for her Grandmother, so we went out and got some cute shots!
New favorite photo location too... Behind Gurus on Center Street in Provo. We were there along with 2 other photographers so it's a pretty hip place!

Sixth graders know everything
I have a co-worker whose wife is an elementary school teacher teaching 6th grade. Apparently sixth graders are really smart. He told us a story the other day that is maybe the funniest thing I have ever heard. It went a little something like this:
After grading some papers that the students had written, Mrs. Greer (the
teacher) pulled a particular male student aside. She was explaining to him
that while writing papers, it's helpful for the reader if the writer uses
paragraphs instead of the whole paper being one large paragraph. The students response was {insert serious, know-it all tone here} "Mrs. Greer, I've been writing papers for 5 years now, and this is the first time I've heard anything about paragraphs."
Is that not the funniest thing?
