Introducing: Tequilla

In my Web Design class yesterday, the same question was asked "Did anyone do anything fun over the weekend?".  Everyone had pretty boring weekends until the question registered for one of  the guys in our class.
About, 5 minutes late.

In today's story, I'm excited to introduce a new character:  Tequilla.  Tequilla is a male, about 24ish with hair the color of a bad attempt at bleaching which resulted in Orange/brown/blond.  Gross.  I'm pretty sure he's done so many drugs, drank so much alcohol that he is just... long gone.  Lucky for us, he provided some funny converstaion in class yesterday that went like this:

Teacher:  Anyone do anything fun over the weekend?
Class:  Silence
Teacher:  Anyone....?
Ecstacy:  The Super Bowl gave us an excuse to get drunk and party.
Teacher:  [trying not to laugh at ecstacy...] Anyone else..?
Ecstacy's Friend:  I had like 20 people all in my living room watching the game.  Why do we even do that?  It's weird...

[...lots of super bowl talk...]

Teacher:  Yeah, it is pretty weird.  ANYone else...?
Tequilla:  OHHH, you mean like over the weekend?
Teacher:  [staring at Tequilla nervously awaiting what would be said next] Yeah.....
Tequilla:  Oh, Dude.  My friends and I went up to some sick cabin for the weekend.  I drank a ton of beer, WAY too much Tequilla and somehow ended up running around the woods NAKED.  In the middle of the night.  I have no idea how that happened.  Who knows, I probably slept with some girl and I don't even know.
Class:  [laughing hysterically and emabrassed for Tequilla]

DUH TEQUILLA!  ALCOHOL MAKES YOU DO WEIRD THINGS!
But, Thank You for doing something that was worth a great laugh.

I think I need to start working on getting real pictures of these new friends of mine.  I'll work on that.  Secretly, of course

{WPPI 2011} - Las Vegas, NV

Right now I feel like a 5 year old during the Holidays.  I just can't wait for "Santa" to come!

 Santa = WPPI
(Wedding & Portrait Photographers International)

It's a HUGE Convention & Trade Show held in Las Vegas every year.  I've never felt "ready" enough to attend, but this year I'm going anyways.  Who the heck cares, right?

I get to learn about SO many things.  Some of the classes I am going to are about:

Marketing Strategies
Light Styling & Posing
Workflow
Creating a Successful Business
Weddings (my favorite!)
Light
"Law School for Photographers"
And many more...

A few of my favorite Wedding Photographers are going to be there speaking, so I hope to be able to attend some of their presentations as well.

Another great thing I get to do is attend a Fashion Show!  The reason I'm going to attend this is because THE Nigel Barker is going to be there (America's Next Top Model Photographer).  Oh. My. Gosh.

Now can you see why I feel like a kid again?

According to the WPPI Website, as of right now there is only:

15 Days: 10 hours: 40 minutes: 50 seconds

Get ready for a bigger and better year here!

Death Sentence

Today has been a weird day.  I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning because...

I signed up for 2 Triathlons.

TWO!

Even though it's been a goal of mine since I was in grade 10, I'm still an idiot.

In May, I'm doing a small one.

I'm not very nervous for this one.  Plus, it's all women.  How great is that?  And then, they pamper you after, so it's totally worth it.  I think they even give us jewelry.  Saweet!

But then, in July I'm doing a real one.  Full on suicidal triathlon.

A few of my friends did it last year, and the whole time they were racing I was wishing I was doing it with them.  So, I signed up this year.

I'm an idiot.

Ecstasy Makes Everything Better

A fellow walks into a restaurant, orders a drink and asks the waiter if he'd like to hear a good BYU joke. "Listen, buddy," the waiter growled. "See those two big guys on your left? They were both linemen on the BYU football team. And that huge fellow on your right was a world-class wrestler at the Y. That guy in the corner was the Y.'s all-time champion weightlifter. And I lettered in three sports at the Y. Now, are you absolutely positive you want to go ahead and tell your joke here?"

"Nah, guess not," the man replied. "I wouldn't want to have to explain it five times.'
Don't be mad.  It's funny....

Remember how I go to the U now?  Well, I'm in a Web Design class.  Usually, classes like this are a little more chill and fun compared to other classes.  Especially in this class.  It's hilarious.  I hear so many funny things that it takes all of my power to not just burst out in laughter.  Don't believe me?

Story 1:

1st day of class, and the teacher wants us to go around the class to introduce ourselves.  Along with that, he wants us to do a cool trick.  Me?  I don't do cool tricks.  So, I pretended that I just learned how to snap during Christmas Break.  Lies.  But, he believed me and I didn't have to get up and humiliate myself in front of the class.  Towards the end of the class, one kid gets up (who is now my partner for the rest of the semester, thank you very much) and introduces himself.  His cool talent is that he can "liquid dance" and he does a quick demonstration.  The teacher (who by the way is pretty awesome and just jokes with us all) looks at the student and jokingly says "that's not cool enough to pass as your trick".  THEN a girl in the back of the class stands up and in his defense says loudly "No, really. It's way cool.  Especially when you are at a club, and there is loud music, strobe lights and your on ecstasy."

Wait, did that just happen?

Yes, yes it did.

The look on the teachers face was priceless.

Story 2:

Wednesday after MLK break, teacher asked us all if we did anything fun over the break.  No one did, except for Ecstasy girl (from now on, she will be referred to as ecstasy girl.  Because, I just don't know her real name.  And, I guess I will protect her real identity.)  So, Ecstasy had a pretty wild weekend that we got to hear all about.  Convo went something like this:

Teacher:  No one did anything fun over the break?
Ecstasy:  Oh OOh!  I did!!  (waving hand in air briskly, impatiently awaiting to be called upon)
Teacher:  (With nervous look on his face about what the entire class will about to hear)  Okay [ecstasy], lets hear it.
Ecstasy:  So, I went to this club and totally got drugged.  It was sooo funny.
Teacher:  [blank stare on face]

Story 3:

This story unfortunately does not feature Ecstasy.

After class, some of the guys were talkin about the BYU vs SDSU game and how cool it is going to be. (Utes talking about how cool something BYU is involved in is... weird.  Didn't know that happened.)  T
The story went a little something like this:

Boy 1:  So, do you think Jimmer can do it again tonight?
Boy 2:  Nah, Jimmer is just some typical Provo boy.
Boy 1:  No he's not!  Jimmer is black!  Typical Provo boys are NOT black.
Boy 2:  Jimmer is not black.  He's SO white.
Boy 1:  Whatever.  No one that good at basketball can be white.  You have to be black, it's basically a rule.
Boy 2:  I'm googling it.

Yep.  Boy 2 won that battle.  Jimmer is in fact white.  And, it looks like he's pretty good at what he does.

Life is entertaining at the U.  I promise to further entertain you with more stories from school.  They are just too good not to share!

If you didn't like that joke just because it was about BYU, then put SDSU in where it says BYU and it will probably be more funny to you.

The New Year Post

I guess since it's a new year, I should maybe post about New Years Resolutions.  And boy do I have some...

In my opinion, the worlds most popular New Years Resolution is to "get in shape", "go to the gym", "loose weight", "eat healthy"... you know, THAT one.  So, of course I have that one too!  Except this year, we're spicin it up a bit.  My friends and I decided to all do it together.    We are callin it 90 Days To A Sweet A.

Yep, a Sweet A.

How it works:  We all put in $5 (should be more in my opinion, but oh well.) and we all took a before picture (oops... haven't done mine yet).  Whoever changes, for the better, by the end of the 90 days wins the money.  1 boy winner, 1 girl winner.  We even have a blog for this where we have our pics and we'll post updates to track how we are all doing.  I think it will be good.  Except... we started it our Jan 4.  I was born that day, so this whole week there have been different celebrations I had to go to which didn't really go well with getting a Sweet A.  SO, I'll start this week!  It end April 4th... should be sweet I think.

Another goal that is along the same lines is to finally do a Triathlon.  No, I'm not a runner, swimmer or biker BUT I have always wanted to do one.  It's been a goal of mine since the 10th grade and I'm finally going to do it.  Yes, I'll start small so I don't kill myself at my first attempt.  I'll be doing the Women of Steel Sprint Triathlon.  Yep, ladies only and only half a real Tri!  I need some support though, so if you are a girl, then you should do it with me!  OR... there is a 5k at the same time, same place.  So, do either!  You get pampered at the end, so it's totally worth it :)

Another goal I have is to graduate.  Tomorrow I am starting that goal and am going to the University of Utah...   I planned on moving up to SLC so that it would be a more convenient situation.  But then Heavenly Father stepped in, so I'm staying in Provo.  Yep, that means I get to drive up there, or ride the train.  MONDAY - THURSDAY.  Dang it.  Well, at least I'll get an education that is worth the money unlike my previous program at you know where...

I think my most important goal is to have a positive attitude more often and choose to be happy.  I think they go hand in hand.  I was so ready to get out of Provo.  I was just tired of everything here and wanted a change.  So now that it isn't happening yet, I have to do my best to make it better.  Some things that are troubling for me here I can't control, so I get to get out my positive attitude and just be happy.  At least I'm going to try to do that.

One more thing.  It's not a real goal, but it's something that is going to happen this year.   A BIG TRIP!  I have a $500 airline voucher and a Time Share I can use.  FREE TRIP!  The problem is, I want to go EVERYWHERE!  Any ideas of where I should go?

As long as it includes one of these, I'm in!

Photobucket

Yep, that's going to happen on my BIG TRIP!
